How tokens & credits work

The concept behind tokens: plan tokens versus purchased tokens, the four actions that spend them, and what the same unit is called elsewhere.

What tokens are

The unit you spend on paid actions

Tokens are what WizzHire charges for the actions that cost real money to run. Your subscription grants a bundle of tokens every month, and you can top up with more whenever you want. Everything else in the product, including posting a job, does not spend tokens.

Plan tokens and purchased tokens

Your balance is made of two kinds of token, and they behave differently:

  • Plan tokens: granted by your subscription each month. They expire at the end of your billing cycle, so an unused monthly bundle does not roll over.
  • Purchased tokens: bought as a top up. They never expire and sit in your balance until you spend them.

Plan tokens are always spent first, so the tokens that are about to expire get used before the ones that never will.

What actually costs tokens

Only four actions spend tokens today, and each one shows you its exact cost before you confirm:

  • AI job description drafting: 6 tokens per generation.
  • AI candidate screening: 4 tokens per candidate.
  • Boosting a job: 100 tokens for a 7 day visibility boost.
  • Refreshing a job: 50 tokens.
Posting a job does not cost tokens publishing a job, and the listing tier you choose for it, are free right now. Only the four actions above draw on your balance.
How AI generation works

Topping up and running low

Top ups come in fixed packages of 100, 250, 500 and 1000 tokens. You cannot buy an arbitrary number, so pick the package that covers what you are planning to do.

When your balance drops below 10 tokens you get a low balance warning. If you do run out, the paid actions pause until you top up or your plan renews, and everything else keeps working as normal.

The Billing page holds your balance, your history and the Buy Tokens dialog. The full walkthrough of buying tokens, invoices and plans lives in its own article.
